The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic highlights the critical need for rapid development of vaccines without abusing antibiotics

The World Health Organization constantly warns about the misuse of continuous abuse of unauthorized drugs. Official health authorities warn about the use of unauthorized antibiotics to treat COVID19. WHO Country Representative, Dr. Fiona Braka, warned on Monday in Abuja at the 41st joint national briefing of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19.

According to her, more people are dying due to the COVID19 pandemic because the available antibiotics may not be sufficient and able to treat their infections. However, this does not mean that people will go on experimenting with drugs. Hydroxychloroquine, the antimalarial drug is still not clear for use against Coronavirus. FDA recently warned about the use of such antibiotics and how they lead to an increase in deaths.

A recent study focusing on hydroxychloroquine shows the effect of several antibiotics on our cardiac cycle. Many such drugs mess up with our cardiac rhythms which in turn leads to death. Another theory behind the increase in COVID-19 deaths leads to the unclean water supply. Leaks from landfill waste lead to the unclean water supply which is a major reason for the COVID-19 pandemic in Africa.
